ABOUT HIGH VELOCITY CROSSFIT

Our Story

High Velocity CrossFit was founded on a simple principle, “help people reach their full athletic potential.” Although this remains a core value of ours, we have realized over the years of coaching and teaching that CrossFit is so much more than the pursuit of full physical potential. It is a lifestyle that reaches far deeper into our everyday lives. We believe time spent in our CrossFit gym is time spent helping you become the best possible version of YOU! We know that at High Velocity CrossFit, you will be changed physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. We believe as you learn to love crushing tough workouts in the gym with people who will likely become some of your best friends…you will begin to see changes both inside and outside of your physical body. That is part of the magic of CrossFit.

Since our humble beginnings in a small storage building, to our beautiful new 5,000 square foot gym, one thing remains fixed…our commitment to our community. At High Velocity CrossFit, we have blended competition and community in a way that is inviting to ALL athletes. If you are a new athlete looking for an incredible community to have fun with while you exercise, we are the gym for you. If you are the athlete looking to take your fitness to the next level, even pursuing a shot at competing in Regionals or the CrossFit Games, we are your gym. HVCF is outfitted with the finest equipment and an experienced coaching staff that can help take you to the next level.

We invite you to come join us for one of our daily scheduled classes or spend some quality time during our open gym hours. We are known for our annual Crawfish Boil and there is no place like HVCF during the Open season… our Friday Night Lights is always electric. What is Crossfit

In short, CrossFit a training methodology that combines elements of Olympic weightlifting, gymnastics, sprinting, rowing and core conditioning to improve overall flexibility, strength, speed, endurance and agility.

Constantly Varied

CrossFit defined is constantly varied, functional movements, performed at relative high intensity. CrossFit begins with a belief in fitness. The aim of CrossFit is to forge a broad, general and inclusive fitness.

Functional Movement

Functional Movement refers to maintaining the safest, most-efficient position to power through a movement. The aim of CrossFit is for our workouts to benefit us in our daily lives.

High Intensity

High Intensity” is a concept that at first can be difficult for new CrossFitters to grasp. People come here skeptical that a high-intensity workout, done in a fraction of the time as they are used to, can lead to faster, better results. But results don’t lie.

Achieve Your Fitness Goals at High Velocity CrossFit
The very first thing you will discover is that CrossFit does not discriminate. Whether you are 50 years old, or have just completed your 50th marathon, CrossFit will help you achieve your fitness goals.

During each class, everyone does the same workout, but that workout will always have several scaling options. This makes it possible for all of us – with our different body types, personal goals and levels of ability – to work alongside one another safely. Your workout = your pace.
If you are an experienced CrossFitter who would like to join High Velocity CrossFit, great! We are thrilled to welcome you. Every member, regardless of fitness level, must participate in our On-Ramp classes.

However, if you are already familiar with CrossFit methodologies and have trained in another certified location for at least three months, you can just jump right into class.
Our goal is to help your children walk out of our gym healthier than when they walked in. We believe that developing a passion for fitness and nutrition in childhood will set the foundation for lifelong physical activity, which will maximize their quality of life and promote good health well into their adulthood.
At HVCF we have built quite the competitive pedigree. In 2018 we sent our first team to the CrossFIt South Regional. We qualified 4 individual athletes in the top 75 in the worldwide open to make up Team HVCF. 2018 was a big year for us, also qualifying two masters athletes and 1 teen athlete for the online qualifier, all finishing in the top 100 in the world. In fact we have qualified at least one masters athlete and as many as three athletes for the online qualifier since 2015, sending our first athlete to the CrossFit Games in 2017! We regularly have athletes compete in large events such as The Fittest Experience in Austin, Tx, The Granite Games in St. Cloud, Minnesota and The Wodapalooza in Miami, Florida. We are also well known in the community for sending athletes to compete in local competitions in the DFW area.

If you are a competitive CrossFitter or someone looking to become a competitive CrossFitter, High Velocity CrossFit is the place for you! We have coaches who have competed at the Games and Regional level ready to help you take your fitness to the next level. If you are someone who is interested in doing your own programming, we offer multiple open gym times throughout the week for you to complete your workouts. At HVCF we do not offer a competitor “class” but our open gym times offer competitors an incredible atmosphere to workout alongside like minded individuals chasing the same goals!

We would love for you to come visit High Velocity CrossFit and give us a chance. We operate as a gym for everyone, from the entry level athlete - all the way to CrossFit games athletes. Even though we feel like we are a great fit for any level of athlete, we understand finding the right community of CrossFitters within your preferences is paramount. Below are some tips for finding the right box for you:

First Things First Give it a Test Drive

Once you have narrowed down the (official) affiliates you want to try, take the time to visit. Talk with the trainers, talk with the members. Spend time observing a morning class and an afternoon class.

The Same but Different Trust Your Gut

Although the fundamentals of CrossFit are the same wherever one goes, it’s safe to say no two boxes look the same. What matters most is that you feel comfortable in the space.

It’s All About the People! CrossFit Is Family

CrossFit is one hundred percent all about the people you “throw down with” every day. As CrossFit increasingly becomes a bigger part of your life, so, too, will your fellow CrossFitters.
